The students of our school joined hands with the State Excise Department and ‘Vimukthi’ (Kerala State Mission for de-addiction) to campaign against drug-abuse and alcoholism. They chose 14 November 2019 (Children’s Day) to launch the project.
Terming themselves as ‘Guards’ (‘Kaavalaal’) the students pledged to keep our school drug-free to spread the message on evils of drug addiction and alcoholism among the public.
The volunteers National Service Scheme took the lead and organised a rally to spread the message to the households of the locality. They visited hundreds of houses and affixed stickers highlighting the message to keep away from drugs, alcohol, nicotine and narcotics.
The NSS volunteers, Student Police Cadets and Scouts& Guides will associate with District Library Councils, anti-addiction units of schools, Kudumbasree units, youth and women’s organisations to keep the campaign alive in the days to come.
