Student Police Cadet (SPC) is a school-based youth development project of Kerala Police. The SPC is implemented jointly by the Departments of Home and Education, and supported by Departments of Transport, Forest, Excise and Local Self-Government. The project trains high school students to respect the laws, practice discipline, and to develop civic consciousness and empathy for vulnerable sections of society. It also strengthens commitment towards the family, community, and the environment, enabling them to resist negative tendencies such as substance abuse, deviant behaviour, intolerance, and other social evils.

The SPC Project was launched on 2 August 2010 in 127 high schools/higher secondary schools across Kerala with 11,176 students. Both boys and girls enrolled as Cadets and 254 teachers were trained as school-level Community Police Officers (CPOs). In 2020, the SPC had 702 schools of 19 Police Districts of Kerala with a combined strength of 60000 cadets and 1404 CPOs.

The SPC Unit of RVSM Higher Secondary School was started in 2012. The current strength of cadets in our school is 88. Smt. Anita and Smt. Sree Rekha, both High School teachers, are in charge of the Unit. Since inception, the Unit has a steady record of exemplary performance and the society feels its presence. The selection of the cadets is based on the academic performance, physical endurance and conduct & character. Both girls and boys gain entry in to the Unit.
