Co-curricular Activity Groups

Students enrol themselves to various co-curricular activities groups. Maths Club, Debate Forum, Quiz Group, Science Club and Spell-bee are functioning under the guidance of teachers. The members of these activity groups test their prowess at inter-school and inter-district competitions.

Extra-curricular Activity Groups

National Cadet Corps (NCC), National Service Scheme (NSS), Scouts & Guides, Student Police Cadet (SPC), Junior Red Cross (JRC), Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP), Little KITEs IT Club, Legal and Literacy Club give the students to sharpen their skills and talents. The students who received support and training in the groups could land in areas as defence services, police force, software companies and football coaching.

Clubs

The students regularly involve in many school clubs. Eco & Forestry Club, ‘Mathrubhumi-Seed club‘, ‘Souhrada‘, ‘Manorama Nalla Padom‘, Tourism Club and Film Club. Off campus programs are regularly conducted under the auspices of the clubs.

Library

The school library has more than 20000 books. Many rare and out-of-print books are available. But the reading habit of school children are on a decline. The library undergoes modernisation with E- readers and E- books. Books are hand-picked and distributed to each class division and discussions are held based on the books they read. Class room-library was a novel concept launched by Smt. V S Lekha, Headmistress in 2016 aimed at inculcating the habit of reading books. Quite recently, the National Service Scheme volunteers built a small book shelf with popular books at the entrance of HSS section to motivate the students to use the school library.

Sports & Athletics

In association with ‘Scoreline’ and Kerala Footaball Association,  ‘Football Schools’ was inaugurated in 2017. The summer coaching camps under the auspices of this football club provided opportunity to students from other schools – even from other districts. Professional coaches trained by Scoreline and approved by Kerala Football Association oversee the training and practice. Our teams won many inter-school and inter-club matches.  Our students are provided with coaching also in athletics, kabbadi, badminton and volleyball. An Indoor Recreation Hall is open to students. Our physical education teacher Mr. S Sreejith makes sure that all the students involve in any of the sports activities suited to their flair. Our students regularly win prizes and medals at Intra-district, Inter-district and state-level athletic meets. A few of them even secured government jobs in sports quota.

Facilities

The school can boast of excellent science labs and computer labs for high school and higher secondary sections. Biological and mathematical 3D models are provided to the students. The Nursery wing of the Lower Primary School has an excellent children’s park with safe toys and amusement equipment. Our Lower Primary section too is provided with computer lab with LCD projectors. School buses pick and drop students from their residences before and after the classes. Almost all the classrooms have turned digital with IT gadgets including LCD Projectors. A mini digital conference hall with overhead projectors is equipped for interactive sessions of students and staff.

School Band

Started in 2017, our School Band has matured enough to perform outside the campus. The band receives regular invitations for performance by other organisations. Both boys and girls are trained by a Band-master from Kerala Police.

Stationery & Refreshments

An authorised vendor is permitted to sell stationery to the students of Upper Primary, High School and Higher Secondary students at an accessible space provided by the Management. The students and members of the staff can also buy healthy beverages and snacks from the same stall. Junk food is totally banned.

Security

The school campus is under 24-hour surveillance with 48 close circuit cameras. Three 32″ monitors are strategically placed in teachers’ rooms for real-time monitoring The students-teachers and parents get connected through the Parent-Alert system developed by Information Kerala Mission. The parents receive updates on the activities and performance through this system. A retired army-personnel monitors and controls the student movement during class-hours.
